Consignors FAQ

How do I consign?

To sign up to be a consignor, go Sign UP and click on the consignor link. You will be walked through an easy process to set up an account with myconsignmentmanager.com. From there you can sign up to be a Consignor, Volunteer, or First Time Mom.  Grandparents can fill out the form at the bottom of the Grandparent page or pick up presale passes at location/date/time to be announced soon.

If I was registered to consign for a prior sale, do I have to register again?

Yes, you must register for every sale you want to consign in. You will keep the same consignor number for each sale you participate in. If you have consigned in the past, then you need to click on "PAST Consignor - Register Here" and log in with your consignor number and password. From there you will see an option to register for the upcoming sale. If you cannot remember your password, click on the "Forgot My Password" option under the login boxes.

When do I drop off my things?  *Please be sure to bring your signed consignor agreement to drop off.

Consignors drop-off their items to sell during the "drop-off" times.  Please enter the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center and follow the drop off signs.  Please stay in your car, Tot Trade offers drive through drop off.  Please check out the calendar for drop off dates and times.  Please allow enough time in your schedule at drop-off to have your items checked in and to place them in their appropriate locations on the sales floor. How much time should I designate for dropping off my items?

A typical drop-off does not take more than 30-45 minutes, but this varies according to how many people have come to drop-off at the same time, as well as how many items you are bringing. Lunch time and evenings are typically busier, and especially the last 3 hours or so of the final drop-off day. Remember that we ask that you come to drop-off with enough time to help place your items on the sales floor after they have been inspected. You can speed up your drop-off by having your items correctly hung, tagged and having them in order by gender and size when you bring them in.

Can someone else drop-off my items for me?

Anyone can drop-off your items. Please make sure they know your consignor number when they come. They will be responsible for helping to place your items on the sales floor, as well as returning any rejected items.  Tot Trade has a lot of Dads that drop off during lunch, please be sure to allow enough time to place NON CLOTHING items out on the floor.  Our dads do a great job, thank you for your help!

Will you take all my items?

At this time Tot Trade does not limit the number of items that you bring including size/gender and number of shoes.  However, we will be screening items very closely as to maintain the quality of the sale. Please don't be offended if we ask you to take back some of your items. It is often easy to miss a spot or a tear when you are getting your items ready at home. We want to be known for having the best quality merchandise. Many of our consignors are also our biggest shoppers and we want you to have confidence that you are buying the best at Tot Trade. We also check to make sure items brought to the sale are for the appropriate season. Please take a moment to check out the ACCEPTED ITEMS AND NON ACCEPTED ITEMS.  Due to liability, Tot Trade DOES NOT ACCEPT CAR SEATS, TRAVEL SYSTEMS THAT INCLUDE CARSEATS (we can sell the stroller) and BASES or CAR SEAT BASES OR BOOSTERS.

What is Mommy’s Mart?

Tot Trade’s Mommy’s Mart is an opportunity for you to clean out your house too!  Tot Trade is looking for your shabby chic items including lamps, chairs, mirrors, decorative items and home furnishings.  Please see Mommy’s Mart for a complete listing of items.  Please note Tot Trade is not responsible for items that are broken during the sale, please do not bring small breakable items or jewelry. 

Can I pick-up my unsold items?

Consignors have the option of picking up their unsold items or donating them to one of  Tot Trade’s charities.  Items marked DONATE will automatically be donated to a charity. Any items you do not pick-up by the end of the pick-up time will be donated. Tot Trade understands packed schedules, emergencies happen and babies get sick; however, Tot Trade CANNOT answer emails or phone calls during PICK-UP DAY. If you are unable to pick-up, please have a friend, husband, neighbor pick-up your items.  Please know that there are many tasks to be completed at the end of the sale and we have to drive back to Columbia, SC.  Tot Trade MUST LEAVE the building after PICK-UP and ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED.  Thank you for planning ahead. Tot Trade will have tax receipts for your donated items.

Do I need to be present to sale my items?

You do not have to present to sale your items. That’s right sign up, tag your items and we do the rest!

Where do I send my check for my consignor fee?

You may choose to use Tot Trade’s easy paypal option or mail your consignor fee check made payable to Tot Trade Charlotte to:

How much does it cost to consign?

Tot Trade offers many specials on consignor fees from a waived fee if you refer someone who consigns in the same season to special discounts for volunteering or signing up during our early registration specials. The fees range from $0- $7.

When do I get my check for consigning?

You will receive your check 2 weeks after the end of the sale! Please see important dates and times for this season’s check mail date.
