100 item appointments

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Hey Mom - it is official - all the 100 item appointments have been taken, but don’t worry….we still have room for you!  If you have 100 items or more, please email us an approximate time and we will schedule you.  I know that more moms will come up with 100 items or more especially over the weekend as tagging goes into high gear.  Please, don’t worry we will take care of you!  The appointments help us to schedule our staff and volunteers and we are so excited that so many of you are really cleaning out your closets!

Make sure to check out the consignor page for all of your questions that you might have while tagging.  Also, don’t forget the “Stuff a Bookbag” school supply drive and an opportunity for you to shop earlier!

Thanks mom for your time and efforts!  We have really put our advertising in high gear this season and our radio spots start next week!  Listen for us on WSOC!  Remember to tell your friends and list us on your blog!

See you soon. RHONDA

Print Code and Tagging Examples

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

As you start tagging and printing your items - please use the following print code:

PL53934   I have included a copy of what your clothing item should look like.  Please note that when looking down at the hanger it looks like a “question mark” and the tag is pinned on the right shoulder.  We are getting a lot of questions 1) do clothes need to be on hangers 2) will I get my hangers back  3) where do I get hangers?  To answer your questions:  1) please put all clothes on hangers  Hang sets at the shoulders not at the bottom of a shirt/sweater, etc. 2) no, you will not get your hangers back, although we always end up with a ton of hangers, help yourself  3) you can find hangers at the dollar store, walmart and target.  Once you start consigning you will start to accumulate hangers for each season’s sale.

I can’t stress enough to not forget your TOYS!  LOTS OF TOYS!  Outdoor play equipment goes fast as do joggers, cribs, gliders, train tables and pack-n-plays.  For more tips on pricing and just about anything else, please see our consignor webpage!  Thanks in advance for all of your Fall/Winter clothing goodies and FANTASTIC stuff!  We will see you soon!

Consignor 100 item apointments

Monday, July 14th, 2008

The countdown is on and we have already had requests to add 100 item appointments which tells me either moms anticipate they will have a lot of stuff to sell or that you have been busy tagging!  Appointments are not required; however we ask that if you have over 100 items to try and schedule an appointment so we can handle your items in a timely manner.

Typically moms start the majority of their tagging 2 weeks prior to the sell - so please schedule now so we can make adjustments to volunteers and staff if we need to.

Tot Trade’s advertising starts this week so things should really start to move at a fast pace!  Look for our ads in the Charlotte Obersver’s neighbor’s sections, Stanley News & Press, Independent Tribune, Concord Standard and WSOC radio! If you have a favorite blog, please let other moms know about us…be sure to mention the Tot Trade website.  We are working on posting your tagging video today/tomorrow!  See you soon!  As always if you have a question, please email tottrade@hotmail.com

Consignor & Volunteer Updates

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Hey Mom!  We are really starting to get a lot of emails which is so exciting because we are still 5 weeks out from the sale.  What this means is that people are buzzing about the sale!  We love the excitement that surrounds the sale….keeps us moving and shaking.  A few questions that have been asked by a number of moms….so here are some answers that will help:

  1. We are mailing out postcards this week (July 7) so you should be receiving them Sat/Mon.  If you need more, please let us know!
  2. Tagging questions:  Please see the tagging examples found on the www.tottradecharlotte.com website.  You will need to scroll down and look at all the photos.  We are working on a video short if we can get it loaded to YouTube so you can see the tagging in action.
  3. Consignor Fee Payment:  Once you have registered for this season’s sale, please return to the Tot Trade /Consignor /Sign UP page and click pay.  This link will direct you to our PayPal account so you can complete your registration.
  4. Remember to register to Volunteer!  Just a 4 hour shift will get you in earlier to shop this season’s presale….we have had a lot of moms register already….so check your calendar and sign-up today!
  5. Toys and accessories:  Moms, I cannot say it enough, TOYS, EQUIPMENT, ACCESSORIES SELL!  I could not believe how much stuff we had last season…..but more importantly is how we sold ALL of the stuff !  Pull your toys and accessories FIRST so you make sure to include them while you are tagging your clothes!

Ok, that is it for now….just a few reminders and answers.  Please make sure to check the BLOG for the latest information about this season’s sale!  Jodi and I will see you all soon……..
